Our students and parents devote a lot of their time to help the band attain the proper amount of fundraising profits it takes to run this program
Cabaret Concert- The Cabaret Concert is the last concert of the year and is hosted and performed by the Tustin Jazz Band. Unlike most concerts throughout the year, the Cabaret Concert is an informal event where the audience is able to relax, buy dinner, socialize and dance as the Jazz Band performs their top charts. The concert takes place on the first Friday of June in the Tustin High School plaza.
Catalogs-Students receive various catalogs throughout the year, usually Cherrydale Farms and Yankee Candle, where they may sell items to family and friends. A percentage of the proceeds go to our music program.
Chili Cook-Off- The Chili Cook-Off is a local, end of the year street fair on the first Sunday of June in Old Town Tustin where there are food vendors, craft booths, entertainment and music. The Chili Cook-Off is one of two occasions where the Tustin Instrumental Music Organization sells funnel cakes in a booth.
Donations- Donations made to the Tustin Instrumental Music Organization by any group or person is tax deductible. We very much appreciate any donations that are sent to the program.
Drumline Competition- Once a year, Tustin High School hosts a drumline competition (run by ADLA), where schools from all around Southern California come to perform and compete. Students and parents spend countless hours through the weekend, setting up and preparing for this event and participate in various jobs throughout the day. This is another one of our major fundraisers of the year and is held in March.
Fourth of July-During the Fourth of July carnival in Tustin Meadows, the students and parents set up a booth to sell food to carnival attendees.
Restaurant Nights- Once a month, we have different restaurant nights where a restaurant will sponsor our program. Flyers are passed out to all the band members and taken to the restaurant where we get a percentage of what is spent on meals.
Run-a-thon- Once or twice a year, the students go out to friends and family and get pledges for the amount of laps that they can run/jog/or walk.
Tiller Days- The Tustin Tillers Fair is an annual and local event that takes place in early October where Marching band and Color Guard compete against the other schools in the Tustin school district in a parade and throughout the weekend, the Instrumental Music Organization sells funnel cakes. This is one of two events where we have our funnel cake booth.
