Marching Band 2025-2026 - Here is the Marching Band calendar for 2025-1026. I am also attaching the letter that is being sent home to all of the students signed up for band and Colorguard. Please reach out to Mr. Fisk if you have any questions.
Calendar Band Camp Letter #1 Band Camp - Band camp starts on July 28th with all of the leaders. The first day for all members is on Tuesday, July 29th. Returning members are to be there from 9:00am-12:00pm. All new members need to be there from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Band Camp is held at Tustin High School in room 603. During Lunch and Dinner breaks, the students will be on their own. Band Camp full days are July 30th, 31st, August 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Those days are from 9:00am-8:00pm. The break down for those days are the following: 9:00am-12:00pm - Morning Block 12:00pm-1:00pm - Lunch 1:00pm-4:00pm - Afternoon Block 4:00pm-5:00pm - Dinner 5:00pm-8:00pm - Evening Block New Parent Orientation (7/29) - This orientation is for all parents of incoming Marching Band and Colorguard students. Marching band is a very involved activity for students and we want to make sure that the new parents have all of the information to better help them understand the process. The meeting will be located in the band room (603), which is in the back of the campus on July 29th at 7:00pm. Map Uniform Check Out (8/4 & 8/5) - We are in need of some parent volunteers to help fit students for the upcoming Marching Band season. If you are willing and available, please email Mr. Fisk with the date you are able to help. We need 5-9 volunteers to make this work. Thanks in advance for all your time and efforts! Sign-ups Booster Meeting (8/6) - Our first booster/parent meeting of the year is on August 6th at 7:00pm. Booster/parent meetings last about an hour. Meetings are held in the band room and all parents who have students in the Marching Band and Colorguard are invited to attend. Booster meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of the month. See the schedule below at the bottom of the page. Agenda - (English - Spanish) 9th Grade Orientation/Back to School Night (8/11) - The School has asked the Marching Band to perform at the 9th Grade Orientation and Back to School Night on August 11th. More information about time and dress will come out during band camp. Welcome Back Assembly (8/22) - The Band students will be playing at this assembly. This will take place during 4th period. Students must wear their red member shirt for the assembly. Home Football Game (8/22) - This is our first home game of the year. Student will be in full uniform. Call time for students is 6:00pm in the Plaza. We will be heading over to the stadium not too long after that as a group. The game starts at 7:00pm and is over around 9:30pm. Away Football Game (8/29) - Even though this is an away game, we will be playing on our campus. We are playing Foothill High School so their will be a lot of people. Donation Campaign (9/2) - The students will be participating in an online donation campaign. Students will be asking family and friends to make donations. Each student will have an individual private test with the director in his office. The grading system consists of the numbers 1-5 in which the student will need to get at least a 4. In order to advance onto the next playing packet you must pass all the playing tests on your paper. Skill Assessments - All guard student will be given a sheet that will have to be completed by the end of the semester. Each student will have a small group test with the director. Theory Assignment Information - These assignments will be given about every other week for musicians starting on September 12. Each unit contains 5 lessons and at the end every student will be given a test on all of the lessons learned in their theory. If the student passes their theory final they will progress to the next theory level. Assignments are given on Monday and are due on Friday. Dry Mix Day (9/20) - Parents can participate to help make the mix for the funnel cakes which also takes place on September 20. The mix will be used for the funnel cake fundraiser on Tiller Days. We will need around 12 parents to participate on this day. Tustin Public Schools Foundation Performance (9/24) - Tustin High School and Tustin Unified School District have asked the Marching Band to take part in a Tustin Public Schools Foundation event on Wednesday, September 24th. More information about time and dress will come out in early September. |
