Our students and parents devote a lot of their time to help the band attain the proper amount of fundraising profits it takes to run this program
Goodwill Fundraiser – On December 1 we are partnering with Goodwill on a fundraiser. We are going to be collecting garage sales type items before that date. We will make money based on how many items we give them. So please start saving all of the items that you want to give away.
Football Games – The band performs pep songs in the stands during Home games. At half-time, the show is performed. Full uniform is required. The band occasionally plays pep pieces during away games, but we do not play the field show. We wear jeans and our red member shirts.
Booster Meetings – In the booster meetings, parents of band students discuss fundraising, budget, and other necessary things to keep the band running smoothly and efficiently. Booster meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month in the band room. They are held from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Foothill Away Game – Like the other away games, we will not be performing our field show, nor will we wear full uniforms. Foothill and Tustin share a field, so while we will still be on Tustin High premises, we will sit and play on the far stands.
Fundraisers – Throughout the year, the band hosts many fundraisers. Not all of them are mandatory, but it is appreciated if students do what they can to help support their program.
Run-a-thon – This is a mandatory practice that doubles as a fundraiser. The students collect pledges for how many laps they can run in an hour or an overall sum. The pledge part is optional, but the running is required.
Band Competitions – Band competitions are where the band performs our field show for several judges and for other schools. They happen on Saturdays, with various call times depending on the time of performance.
Tiller Days – This is a 3 day carnival hosted by the city of Tustin in early October. We sell funnel cakes. We need volunteers to run the booth. This is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year.
Dry mix day – This is where we prepare for our Tiller Days booth. We sell funnel cakes, but since they are popular, we make the mix beforehand. All that is then required is making batter from the dry ingredients.
Guard Competition – This is an all-day competition that we host in March. We need volunteers to run the competition. We keep all of the proceeds from the concession stand. It is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year.
Cabaret Concert – The last concert of the year in May hosted and performed by the Jazz Band. We help set up and run the concessions, silent auction and ticket sales to support the event.
Tustin Chili Cook-Off – A one day street fair, first week of June, hosted by the City of Tustin. We sell funnel cakes. We need volunteers to run the booth.
Fourth of July – During the Fourth of July carnival in Tustin Meadows, the students and parents set up a booth to sell food to carnival attendees.
Restaurant Nights – Once a month we have a fundraiser at a local restaurant. We welcome suggestions on locations.
