![]() Marching Band and Colorguard What Is Marching Band? The marching band is a high-level performance group, which combines musical knowledge and drill design. It also includes Colorguard which helps amplify the theme of the show by spinning equipment and dancing. What is Band Camp? Band Camp is a series of practices over the summer break in order to get a head start on the new season. If you plan on joining either band or Colorguard it is mandatory that you attend. What are the rehearsals like? Rehearsals are two-three days a week after school for about three hours. What kind of Performances do you do? Marching band performs for all home football games, parades, and competitions. Do you have to audition? For Musicians - No, but students must have at least 1 year of band in order to join. For Colorguard - Auditions are held in April. Make-up auditions will be during the first three days of band camp if there is still room. What credits are earned? You earn a semesters worth of PE credits, elective credits and performing art credits. Is there a fee? There is no fee for joining marching band, but this program is not functional without donations and fundraising. We ask every member to participate in the fundraisers to help this group keep running. What kind of experience is expected? This is not only a chance to become a skilled musician or guard member but a place to make friends and memories that you will cherish as a part of your high school experience. How do I sign up?
